Who are we?
Merge Robotics is a community-based robotics team, from Ottawa Ontario, that participates in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Our team is comprised of 45 dedicated high school students. We are joined by a diverse group of mentors drawn from the Ottawa community: engineers, scientists, business leaders, and post-secondary students.
What do we do?
Each and every year, FIRST releases a brand new complex and exciting challenge. Under strict rules, limited resources, and limited time, teams are challenged to raise funds, design a team “brand”, hone teamwork skills, build and program robots to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. It’s as close to “real-world engineering” as a student can get!
Where we’re located
Merge Robotics has members coming from ~ 900 km² across Ottawa. We meet in public spaces, such as the Ottawa Public Library, the Northern Lights Education Services, Entrust, and a workshop provided to us by MVS Remote Video Systems.
